Garney Pearce - Senior consultant

Garney Pearce is a senior journalist who brings sound judgement and a wide range of media skills to industry and community projects.

Experience

Garney is a  graduate of Law and Politics University of Tasmania. He completed  his cadetship at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in the mid-1990’s and focussed on a wide range of issues as a journalist and producer, including the Port Arthur tragedy, maritime accidents, inquests and major court cases, as well as covering their political fall-out.

As a current affairs professional he was recognised with several awards for his work including the ‘abuse of state wards’ exposure (which led to a 54-million dollar compensation scheme in Tas.).

He has experience and insight in areas of the news and current affairs genre and consequential legal issues. He’s work has also included sub-editing and news presentation for daily news output.

His post ABC work  has focussed on mutli-media projects for industry, cultural and tourism groups, locally and interstate  (through his firm, Podcast Productions).

This has included scripting, video and audio production for leading edge (& rich forms) of online marketing.

He’s also focussed on the development and preparation of manuscripts for publication. Garney has recently returned to his home state after several years of working and living in Singapore.
